Back in the swing of things...

Well, I'm back in Ohio...the busy part of my summer is finally over! Dan and I were talking yesterday about how goofy the pastors' schedules are over the next few months. Almost all my traveling was in June...Sam has three trips in the next month or so, and Dan is headed to California soon. We'll have to re-introduce ourselves to each other when we end up all in the same state at the same time again!

Tennessee was great...my grandparents rented a cabin for our whole family, and it was wonderful to get to spend time with them for a whole week! I saw some Southern gospel quartets, some music variety shows, and some full-scale Broadway-type productions. It's never too early to dream about Christmas musicals, right? ... Right? :)

One of the other nice things about this vacation was we had family devotions every night. There were 14 adults, and we took turns leading (2 each night). What an amazing privilege to grow up in a family where each member is loving and serving Christ! I'm so thankful for that, and it was neat to listen to how He is working in the lives of my family.

Well, that's the story of my week...now I'm busy trying to find my desk under all the piles of stuff and start organizing for the rest of the summer...and choir starting up in the fall...and Christmas. Scary, huh?

I want to leave you with the words of this song we sang yesterday morning...no matter what problems you're facing today, I hope this encourages you! Take them all to Christ!

Whoever said summer is relaxing? :)

Actually, summer is relaxing...but in a busy sort of way. I haven't posted on here in a couple weeks because our schedule has been insanely crazy! Basketball camp, vacation with Molly's family in Hilton Head, another basketball camp, and now we're getting ready for a Cary family reunion in Pigeon Forge. Here's some highlights from the last two weeks (since I haven't been able to post since then :) ...

The beautiful house we stayed at in South Carolina...wow...

Running to the beach and seeing the space shuttle on its way into orbit...wow again...

Discovering ColdStone Creamery and cake batter ice cream...all at the same time... :)

Getting to spend time with family...and play lots of cards...

Getting to spend time with some of our basketball players at Northwestern...and watch them improve...and watch my wife be a great head coach :)

I hope you're having a good start to the summer...I'll check in again after our trip to Tennessee. Happy Father's Day!
