...building on the STONE...

Deep breath --it'll all get done, right?

Life is starting to get crazier with each passing week, and as I told Molly yesterday, the good news is it will all calm down.

In March.

Once the musical is over, things slow down a little, but basketball season takes our lives to a different pace for a few months, and it takes some time for us to adjust, I think.

Since I haven't figured out a way to move Christmas or basketball season away from December, they still both come at the same time every year.

Oh well.

The good news is that the musical will be done in six weeks or so.

The bad news is that means the musical will be here in only six weeks or so.

Yikes.

So on a happier/calmer note...what's going on at CBC lately?

Glad you asked :) We're really excited about "Promote While They Vote" on Tuesday...a neat chance for us to get involved in the lives of those in our community...we'll be handing out free snacks and drinks to those who visit the building for the U.S. election, as well as tickets and invitations to "A Night of Wonder".

Be praying - it's not every day we get a few hundred people with no connection to our church that wander in the front door.

I'm excited.

And slightly busy, of course :)

Have an awesome week!

My little hobby...

This won't come as much of a shock to anyone that knows me, but I enjoy watching sports in my spare time.

A lot.

I also like to think I know more about basketball and football than the average fan...I believe it's called education by television osmosis.

Or something like that.

Anyway, for the past year, I have been writing about sports occasionally on a website called BleacherReport.com. Not really on any specific schedule most of the time...the site just gives me a place to rant when my team is awful...or to express my opinions about why college football needs a playoff to someone besides my wife (she gets a little bit tired of that eventually, for some reason :) That kind of thing.

This fall, I started writing a weekly column on BleacherReport called "Carrying On About College Football". Yes, carrying. Bad pun, I know. Amazingly enough, some people have read the articles...and even pretended to like them. As a result, I've been interviewed about college football on two different radio shows...which was really neat.

This week, though, my spare-time hobby takes another step. On Saturday, I will be writing from the press box at Papa John's Stadium in Kentucky for the Louisville/Middle Tennessee State game. I've always wanted to be in the press box at a major sporting event....and this will be the first time!

To top it all off, the following week, I'll be writing from high atop Ross-Ade Stadium at Purdue. For a long-time Boilermaker fan, that's about as good as it gets!

Well, as good as "unpaid writing" gets :)

Have an awesome week!
